After 10 years of teaching 1st and 2nd grades, I made the decision to become a stay at home mom. I started card making when my oldest was born, I thought it would keep me sane. My skills have finally evolved to a point where people take notice. To date, I've been on 9 design teams including my current positions at Creative Card Crew and Sweet Sketch Wednesday.
I love everything crafty: card-making, painting, scrap-booking, knitting, and quilting I am addicted to lovely paper and have found that my obsessive love of the pretty works just as well with fabric. I will work hard to make sure that your project is amazing!
I started sewing when I was about 8 years old with my Grandmother. I learned to quilt in 1997 while I was living in Hawaii. It was a love of fabric, machinery and art that brought me to quilting.
In 2002 I competed in my first quilt contest and have won special recognition for my quilting abilities nearly every year that I competed.
2002 Let Freedom Ring - 1st place Amateur
2003 Colorful Colorado - Judges choice
2005 Chuga Chuga Choo Choo - 2nd place Masters
2006 Wild Wild West - 1st place Masters
2007 Poka Dot Afair - 1st place Masters
2008 Planes Trains and Automobiles - 1st place Masters
2010 Wild About Flowers - 3rd place Masters
2012 Quilt alliance contest " home is where the quilt is" - honorable mention
Fabric arts are my passion and I enjoy seeing what can be expressed by just a simple stitch. I look forward to making your quilt a piece of art.
